Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes

Garlic bread. Sloppy Joes are a wonderful take on the classic sandwich, made with Italian bread and topped with the greatest sloppy joe sauce and cheese. Then they’re roasted in the oven till golden brown. Cut the bread into smaller pieces for serving as an appetizer. Alternatively, preserve the pieces in bigger chunks for the main course. Whatever way you cut it, they are SO GOOD!

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup tomato sauce

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon mustard

Salt and pepper to taste

4 large garlic bread slices, toasted

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is thoroughly browned and the onions are translucent.

Drain any excess fat and return the skillet to the heat.

Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes until the mixture has thickened.

Preheat your broiler. Place the toasted garlic bread slices on a baking sheet.

Spoon the beef mixture generously over each slice of garlic bread. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Broil for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve immediately and enjoy.
