Cajun Butter Steak Bites with Mushrooms

I’ve been making cajun butter steak bits and mushrooms for years, and I’m thrilled with how delicious, soft, and juicy they turn out in the air fryer. I’ll never make these on the stovetop again. This is a really simple dish for a quick meal. I prefer it with veggies, rice, or pasta.

Ingredients:

โ€ข 1 lb beef tenderloin

โ€ข 2 ยฝ tbsp oil

โ€ข ยฝ tbsp Tony Chachere Creole Seasoning

โ€ข ยพ tsp paprika

โ€ข ยพ tsp onion powder

โ€ข ยผ tsp ground black pepper

โ€ข 2 cups baby bella mushrooms (sliced)

โ€ข 1 tbsp oil

โ€ข 2 ยฝ tbsp butter

Instructions:

Whisk together creole seasoning, paprika, onion powder, and black pepper; set aside.

Cut beef tenderloin into 1ยฝ-inch by 1-inch pieces. Place steak bites, sliced mushrooms, 2ยฝ tbsp oil, and seasoning mix into bowl.

Mix until meat and mushrooms are well coated. Cover bowl and marinate 30 minutes to 1ยฝ hours.

Preheat air fryer to 400ยฐF for 5 minutes. Cook in the air fryer (in 2 batches) at 400ยฐF for 6-10 minutes.

TIP: Beef should be in a single layer with a tiny space between pieces so they donโ€™t steam. Place mushrooms in and around steak. Mushrooms may be cooked seperately at 400ยฐF for 6 minutes.

NOTE: 6 minutes = more rare. 10 minutes = medium-well.

Toss cooked mushrooms and steak pieces in bowl with butter. Sprinkle with more creole seasoning or salt if desired.

Serve with rice, roasted broccoli, noodles, brussels sprouts, couscous, roasted carrots, or a green salad.
