Introducing garlic bread grilled cheese, the ultimate grilled cheese experience! A combination of melty fontina cheese, sourdough bread, and roasted garlic butter creates the perfect crunchy, crispy grilled cheese sandwich.
Hi, huh. We are indeed heading there!
Grilled cheese on garlic bread. It does exist. Let’s at least make it a reality. One we will always remember!
Spread on bread, a really roasty, savory garlic butter is roasted till golden, cheesy, crispy, melty, and well, it’s just everything. Elevated grilled cheese. Cheese on a grill, elegant, but not.
Just now, I don’t think I could eat grilled cheese any other way.
This is the ultimate indulgent grilled cheese; it’s great for fans of exciting taste as well as garlic lovers. I initially tested them by cutting them into little strips while we had a full house. They were gone in an instant! An irresistible buttery sandwich that melts in your tongue. It is, I assure you, the greatest thing you will make this week.
HERE’S HOW I DO IT!
I start by making the garlic butter. For this, I really enjoy using roasted garlic cloves, or even better, my garlic confit. Everyday Dinners has the confit recipe, which is quite delicious!
Roasted garlic cloves are combined with melted buter, fresh herbs, parmesan, and a little salt. I’m really sorry. It tastes really good. I often prepare this butter combination in the summertime for grilling garlic toast. I grill chicken or even pan-roast veggies with the leftovers. It is adaptable!
I’m putting it on sourdough toast for the ideal garlicky grilled cheese today, like a craz person. In terms of grilled cheese, it will completely alter the game.
I really enjoy using freshly grated fontina cheese for the cheese itself. It’s just amazing and the meltiest cheese there is. Naturally, though, any cheese will do! Garlic bread pairs well with almost anything, so choose your favorite cheese. This is true.
Then, you know, Toast to that. similar to a standard grilled cheese. sluggish and low.
Once the bread slices have been buttered with garlic, the grated fontina cheese is added and the mixture is cooked in a pan until the bread is golden, crispy, buttery, and very delicious.
Because it’s so rich, this recipe is also perfect for grilled cheese sticks and soup shooters. Just for that reason alone, it would make a fantastic appetizer or party meal.

Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese
Ingredients
- 2 whole heads of garlic
- olive oil for drizzling
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs like parsley, basil, rosemary
- kosher salt
- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 6 ounces fontina cheese freshly grated
Instructions
- Set the oven’s temperature to 350°F.
- Slice off the top of the garlic head to expose the cloves before roasting. To remove the paper on the sides and peel off any extra, gently wipe back and forth. Apply a small amount of olive oil to every bulb. Place the bulbs in the oven after securely wrapping them in foil. Roast the cloves for 45 to 60 minutes, or until they are brown and caramelized. Allow to cool a bit.
- Squeeze the cloves out onto a dish after the garlic has cooled enough to touch. Add the fresh herbs, parmesan, melted butter, and a small amount of salt. Mash everything together with a fork until well blended.
- Apply the garlic butter on the bread’s outside. A big griddle or skillet should be heated over medium-low heat. Put two bread pieces in the skillet, butter side down, and then cover with cheese. Place the remaining bread pieces, butter side up, on top.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, over low to medium-low heat until the cheese melts. When the bottom is toasted and golden, turn it over and continue cooking until the other side is also golden.
- If desired, remove and top with freshly chopped herbs and parmesan cheese. Cut and present!
