Creamy Coconut Lime Mojito
I would instantly travel to a tropical beach in the Bahamas (or any other tropical location, for that matter) if I could do so miraculously. That sounds good, doesn’t it? Blue seas, a sunny day, and temperatures in the eighties or higher? Yes, that is now my dream.
The reality, though? I’m in Colorado in case something unexpected happens. I’m OK with this; it’s all good. It nearly seems as though I’m actually enjoying this mojito down in the Bahamas thanks to my creamy coconut lime mojitos and imaginative imagination.absolutely no worries whatsoever.
Yup. Today we must channel our inner 10-year-old selves and allow our imaginations to take us to a tropical location.
Seriously however, this mojito is unquestionably one of my favorite drinks at the moment. It possesses everything I cherish. It has a coconut flavor, plenty of lime, is creamy, and has a hint of ginger flavor in the form of effervescent bubbles. It certainly isn’t your typical mojito, but it is everything GOOD. And it’s so easy to make with materials you probably already have.
Below are the specifics
We’ll keep this brief so we can enjoy our mojitos.
All of the following ingredients are in this mojito.
a lot of lime…because lime makes a mojito perfect.
a lot of mint…Once more, you require this for the traditional mojito flavor.
White rum is obviously necessary.
For a touch of the tropics, coconut rum.
coconut creamYou need the coconut cream for creaminess, and the coconut milk used must be in a can.
ginger aleYou could use soda water, but ginger beer is much preferable if you have some on hand.
Make a little amount of salty lime sugar to coat the rim of your glass first. It’s easy…lime, sugar, and sea salt crystals.
Next, combine the mint and lime in a muddle. Add the coconut milk after the two rums. Shake vigorously and, sure, shake some more. After that, strain into a glass and pour ginger beer on top. Have fun now. Ideally with a little more of that lime sugar sprinkled on top.
It’s the correct thing to do, I assure you.
a few thoughts for everyone
Once the ginger beer is added, the mojito will have froth on top. The froth will go away after a quick, gentle stir. Also? I kind of enjoy the foaminess since it gives the beverage a little luxuriant vibe.
The coconut milk and rum may begin to gradually separate from each other as the mojito rests and gets even colder. I seldom ever pay attention to it, but various coconut milk brands can have quite distinct effects. Just give everything a little swirl to recombine, then keep sipping.
Although it’s customary to sweeten a mojito after combining lime and mint, I like to leave the sugar out of the final product. With the addition of the ginger beer and the sugared rim, I found the beverage to be sufficiently sweet. Use the sugar instead if you like a sweeter beverage.

How To Make Creamy Coconut Lime Mojito
- in order to manufacture lime sugar. On a small dish, mix the lime zest, sugar, and a dash of salt. Put sugar over the rim of your glasses, then add ice.
- Lime, mint, and sugar (if used) should be combined in a cocktail shaker or glass jar and muddled to release juices. Add the coconut rum and white rum. Place ice in the container and shake to mix. Shake after adding the coconut milk.
- Strain into your prepared glass. Slowly top with ginger beer, then gently stir to combine. Enjoy immediately.
- Mocktail: Replace the white rum and coconut rum with 1 1/2 ounces of apple cider or apple juice.
Notes
- Once the ginger beer is added, the mojito will have froth on top. The froth will go away after a quick, gentle stir.
- Coconut Milk Separation: The coconut milk and rum may gradually separate while the mojito rests in the ice. I seldom ever pay attention to it, but various types of coconut milk might have varied effects. After giving everything a little swirl, just keep sipping!
- Use the sugar if you want a sweeter drink; I personally don’t use it because the drink is already sweet enough with the sugared rim and the ginger beer.
